In a similar factual case to the one immediately above, we represented the family of an individual who reported chest pain and shortness of breath to her doctor following a leg surgery. We alleged that the physician failed to act on his patient’s classic pulmonary embolism symptoms and presentation, causing death. The patient’s surviving children and spouse received a $1.5 million settlement.
