Wrongful Death against Delta Regional Medical Center

Merkel & Cocke, PA won a $1.5 million judgment on behalf of the estate and family of Vanessa Jernigan, whose untimely death was caused by Delta Regional Medical Center’s (DRMC) breach of care. The verdict of $1.5 million reflected the trial judge’s evaluation of the value of the loss of a mother to her three children, which the judge was forced to reduce because of a legislative arbitrary cap that devalues life.
