Robert Alexander Carson III is an attorney with the law firm Merkel & Cocke, P.A. His practice includes complex civil litigation, with a predominant focus on medical malpractice. Mr. Carson joined the firm as an associate in 2019 immediately upon receiving his law degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law, graduating cum laude.
Before attending law school, Mr. Carson received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Mississippi in 2014. Between undergraduate and law school, Mr. Carson worked for a commercial real estate appraising company handling eminent domain just-compensation claims in the surrounding areas of Houston, Texas.
Mr. Carson is a native of Marks, Mississippi, and proudly remains in the Mississippi Delta, as he now resides in Clarksdale where he’s taken an active role in his community by serving (or having previously served) in the following capacities: Coahoma County Chamber of Commerce (board of directors, vice president, and president); Delta Council (member, board of directors, and vice president); Lee Academy (board of directors); The Spring Initiative (board of directors); and Coahoma County Bar Association (president). Mr. Carson is also a member of Christ Presbyterian Church of Oxford, Mississippi.
When Mr. Carson is not at work, you might find him cheering on the Rebels at an Ole Miss sporting event with his friends and family, or in the woods hunting turkeys, quail, or ducks.
