Merkel & Cocke, P.A. is proud to announce that partner John H. Cocke has been selected for inclusion in Mid-South Super Lawyers for 2019. This is Mr. Cocke’s 14th consecutive year being selected for inclusion.
Super Lawyers is an objective rating service designed to help consumers make good choices for the legal needs. Each year, the service reviews “outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.” Attorneys are chosen for review based on peer nominations and evaluations, and independent research done by Super Lawyers itself, which employees a 12-point vetting system. Attorneys cannot nominate themselves for inclusion, and being selected one year does not guarantee selection the next year. In total, 5% of all attorneys are selected to Super Lawyers.
The annual list of Top Attorneys is published in Super Lawyers Magazine. Magazines are divided by region. Mid-South Super Lawyers considers nominees from multiple states, including Mississippi.
